If you don't see your question here ask us at janda.hampton.wedding@gmail.com and we will both answer it, and add it to this list! If you're wondering it, so is someone else!
While we can't make you (I think?) we HIGHLY reccommend and encourage it! We will be shuttling guests to/from the venue from this hotel and only from this hotel.
There is no parking at the venue, so, if for whatever reason you have other accommodations please let us know at janda.hampton.wedding@gmail.com and expect to uber to the hotel to be there for shuttle pick up!
Unfortunately, while you might be able to Uber there, there will be NO ubers back to Seattle at 11:00 pm! This is the main reason we will be coordinating a shuttle service to/from the Hampton Inn and Suites in Northgate!
In Seattle, the weather in early October is usually mild and pleasant, with average temperatures ranging from the high-50s to the low-60s Fahrenheit. Though last year on October 7th, 2022, it was a high of 72 and sunny! That said, it is always better to err on the cautious side as there is always the chance of rain and cooler temps. We would recommended packing clothing that works well in layers. If you're in the sun, you'll want the option to shed a thicker jacket! And temps do drop after the sun sets so having a jacket or scarf to layer can make your day much more enjoyable!
Yes! We take the Light Rail to/from the airport every time we travel! Not only is it 32X Cheaper, but it is nearly as fast, and more consistent as there is no such thing as traffic!
With that said, for those unfamiliar with public transit in the US, it is still PUBLIC transit! You will be perfectly safe taking your bags and suitcases on the train, but maybe don't talk loudly about all the valuables in your backpack, or dazzle the train car with your shiny watch or ring! Public Transit like the Light Rail is a service for everyone, even those we wouldn't usually come across in our day to day lives. It's important to know that going in, and remember that everyone needs to get from point A to point B!
We do not reccommend renting a car, it will be much be more cost-effective and convenient to use public transit services like buses, light rail, ferries, and streetcars instead of renting a car. Seattle has an extensive public transit system, which can take you to many popular destinations throughout the city. Additionally, ride-sharing services like Uber can provide more flexibility and convenience than renting a car.
However, if you're planning a longer vacation, renting a car may be a better option as it will give you more freedom and flexibility to explore the city and its surroundings.
To use the Transit Go app in Seattle, you will first need to download it from the App Store or Google Play Store. Once the app is installed, open it and create an account. After you have logged in, you will be prompted to enter your location. You can either allow the app to access your device's location or manually enter your location.
Next, you will be able to see the different public transportation options available in Seattle, such as buses and trains operated by King County Metro and Sound Transit. You can search for a specific route or browse through the options. Once you have selected your desired route, you can purchase tickets for your ride through the app. You can select the type of ticket you need, such as a single ride, day pass or a round-trip pass, and then pay for it using a credit or debit card. Once you have purchased a ticket, you can use it to ride the corresponding public transportation.
First, YES please come if you are in Seattle! The welcome party is our take on a rehearsal dinner! Given that people will be flying all the way out here to celebrate this special day with us, we want to spend as much time with each of you as possible!
The welcome party is from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm PST the night before the wedding at Stoup Brewing in Ballard. Drinks will be on us for everyone and there will be beer, cider, and non-alcoholic options available! There will also be multiple food trucks nearby that have some amazing bites!
We completely understand if you don't like wine or don't drink! You're probably healthier than the rest of us! On the wedding day we will have a variety of wine, beers, and non-alcoholic beverages available!
If you are here through Sunday October 8th, we would highly reccommend the Ballard Farmers Market! The Ballard Farmers Market is a one of our favorite activities with dozens of local food stalls, farm fresh produce, and little trinkets! It runs from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm PST EVERY Sunday!
If you are leaving before Sunday morning, there is still MUCH TO SEE! We would reccommend visiting Pike Place Market for one of the coolest experiences of the city! Make sure to try the pastries at "Piroshky Piroshky" and the coffee at "Storyville Coffee" (let us know if you can't find it!).
You would be correct in guessing this is not the knot! This website was made by me, Reed, and is hosted on an S3 bucket with a custom domain through Amazon Web Services!
